Hillary Clinton & Foxy Knoxy? Really?

Following the lead of her fearless leader Lord Falderal, Hillary Clinton has decided it is good policy for the Secretary of State, of the United States of American to get involved in tabloid driven drama. Let’s face it; this administration hasn’t seen a headline it hasn’t wanted to grab a piece of.

Much to the dismay and wonder of Italian prosecutors, Hillary Clinton plans on looking into the supposed “miscarriage of justice” in the Amanda Knox case. Now to be fair, Clinton has so far only agreed to meet with a Washington State Senator petitioned to look into the case by “Foxy Knoxy’s” family. That seems to be a reasonable request, which should have been answered with a form letter by Clinton’s staff. And, that is as far as it should have gone.

For our Secretary of State to expend any energy and taxpayer money poking around into other people’s justice systems is foolhardy and shows the lack of experience this administration has in foreign relations. Amanda Knox’s murder case is none of our business.

There are Americans all over the world arrested and tried fairly and unfairly every single day. Should our Secretary of State go into the international criminal appeals business and prance all over the globe trying to spring Americans just because they are American? Methinks not.

Could you imagine Henry Kissinger, Colin Powell or Condoleezza Rice getting involved in such foolishness? Would Teddy Roosevelt, the Presidential bastion of Justice have sent John Hay, or Elihu Root to intervene in such a case? Once again, methinks not.

I am not suggesting the United States should forsake our countrymen when facing an unfair judicial system in which there are political underpinnings, but this is a case of a college aged kid engaging in dangerous and devious sexual behavior resulting in the death of a promising and innocent young woman.

“Foxy Knoxy” is not a political prisoner. Nor is she a sympathetic character. This woman had the unmitigated gall to enter and win, a creative writing contest in which the protagonist lays out the exact same scenario for murder as Knox herself was accused of committing. It doesn’t take a genius in jurisprudence to figure this one out.

Not to mention the mountains of for the most part, irrefutable physical and circumstantial evidence against her.

The Italian Prosecutors presented the evidence effectively; as did the Defense. What was lost in translation, or otherwise mucked up because of cultural differences are not our concern. Neither is scandalous and sensational news reports simply tossed into the media blender in order to keep the story hot until the next big thing happens, like Tiger Woods for instance.

Like our own justice system, the Italians have an appeals protocol, which Knox is within her rights to take advantage of. She is not just merely tossed into prison to rot. The tools exist for her to prove her innocence and she will certainly avail herself of them.

For Hillary Clinton to intervene now, or even at the end of the appeals process is ludicrous and shows just how low rent our administration has gone. Is it worth risking what already is a tenuous relationship with Italy over this tart gone bad? Of course not. And, for those who think that couldn’t possibly happen, wake the fuck up.

Politics is politics and if Italy thinks we are power playing this stupid little scenario, there will be repercussions on other fronts. The United States needs more allies right now. Lord Falderal along with Hillary and the other fools running the show have done nothing but endear us to dangerous dictators like Chavez and Qadaffi.

I have to think there are far more pressing issues for Hillary Clinton to pursue, although it would appear her husband seems to be much more effective at pursuing them in her stead. Perhaps Bill should take a trip over to Italy on his own time and give Foxy Knoxy a little help. No, wait…that’s probably a bad idea.

Healthcare; Keep it Simple Stupid

I have had very few discussions on Health Care Reform with my friends and family, which is really weird considering it is such a hot button issue right now. Normally, I would spend hours upon hours arguing with my liberal and conservative brethren about an issue this big.

The reason I haven’t gotten into it is the perceived complexity of the issue. It’s fucking confusing.

As always the government has done what government will do; make something so big and lugubrious that it wears down the public into their basic theologies and they end up supporting whatever plan is being touted by denizens of their particular political persuasion. In other words, the complexity of the issue breeds sycophantic behavior.

I fall victim to this as well. It becomes simple to me; the Democrats are wrong and the Republicans are right because I don’t want to grapple with something beyond my simplistic way of thinking.

I think on a macro level when it comes to the Government of the United States and truthfully, I believe that is all I have to do as a citizen of this country. The details are there for others to work out. In this case, the morons we have elected into office.

My main point here is that the Health Care Reform issue is a very simple one. It is a matter of staying true to the ideals of this country. We are a capitalistic society. Our whole foundation operates on supply and demand principles. It is all of our jobs to straighten out health care.

As a people we need to make the health care industry accountable and responsible for their business. All aspects of health care is commercial and that is what we do here in this country; commerce. Doctors, insurance companies, hospitals, all healthcare providers are in business to make money and there is nothing wrong with that.

What is wrong is the manner in which they do it. I hate business regulation, but this is the one industry where I believe in heavily regulating what is allowed to stand as general practice. You want health care reform? Fine. The answer is to make these scumbag insurance companies, hospitals, doctors, material providers, pharmaceutical companies, et al, more accountable to us their customers.

The health care industry will react. We as the general public wrongly believe these businesses to be in total control. That is simply not true. We are in control, unless Lord Falderal and his cadre of misfits turn health care over to the Government. Then we are completely screwed. There are no longer any chances for us to do what we do; exist as a democratic capitalist republic.

What Lord Falderal is doing is using the easiest possible route to dangerously play around with changing our basic foundation from one of capitalism to socialism. If you think I am being radical and part of that scary arm of the right, you need to take a breath, brush all the fat, happy, and stupid faces of our President and legislature out of your mind and really think about. Think about it not as a Democrat or Republican, but as an American.

The minutiae of this issue are huge. There are so many things to detract from the larger picture. The emotional factor alone drives many to distraction. You hear about XYZ with a child who needs an operation, but there is no money and on and on and on. Yes, these are sad situations, but that is life and our forefathers have developed a system we have all chosen to live by. This will sound harsh but it is appropriate, if you are frustrated with our system in this country…leave.

Strip this issue down to the basics and the answer becomes very clear.

This is not about our well-being as citizens. This is about a lethargic, do nothing, tax and spend government only interested in securing their places in the annals of history as some sort of harbingers of radical change. Well, this is radical change we do not need and it could be our downfall.

There is a Special Place in Hell for Harry Reid

I have this really weird recurring dream. I am on a large sport fishing vessel somewhere in the Thimble Islands where I grew up. Mounted in the rear cockpit is the world’s largest skeet launcher. Loaded in the machine are not your usual clay pigeons but Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. I am positioned at the stern with a rocket launcher that is armed with Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck.

As I yell pull to the operator of the skeet machine who happens to be Abe Lincoln, Reid is catapulted through the air ass over tea kettle; glasses tossed into Long Island Sound and his plastered hair coming out of place and obscenely bouncing about. As I take aim and pull the trigger Limbaugh is rocketed at the target hitting Reid square in the abdomen, both men turning into a fine pink mist as somewhere a demonic minion opens up the gates of Hell and welcomes whatever it is that passes for their souls. Likewise goes the second shot as Beck hits Pelosi dead center and sends them to their new eternal home.

Usually I wake up from this dream doubting my sanity and feeling somewhat guilty for my subconscious’s apparent disrespect for life no matter how evil it may be. But, then I almost always end up reading a headline that goes something like this: REID LIKENS REPUBLICAN DETRACTORS FROM HEALTH CARE PLAN TO LAWMAKERS WHO BALKED AT ABOLISHING SLAVERY.

As stupid as my dream may seem to you and me, even more supremely stupid is this moron. Reid certainly has a long long laundry list of despicable deeds, but this one really takes the proverbial cake.

Are Congress people and Senators absolved from learning anything about US history? The way I read it, it was the Republicans that were the bastions of abolishment. I am pretty sure that is the way most people read it as well. To suggest otherwise just shows that not only does Reid need to be hit up side the head with a nice thick history book, he also should crack it open and read it. That is, if he can read.

Limousine liberals have this unique and quite amazing way of taking anyone’s accomplishments and assimilating them as their own. This is a phenomenon that seems to take place every time Democrats get a majority in the Houses. I remember hearing a State legislator once say that Abraham Lincoln really wasn’t a Republican at all (technically he wasn’t, he was a Whig) but was a Democrat and therefore it was Democrats who were really responsible for the Emancipation Proclamation because there was no way Republicans could possibly be for freeing slaves. Oh, really?

Were I a Democrat, (God forbid) I would be pretty pissed off at Reid too. I personally would like to see every racist residing in the same annals of Hell reserved for the likes of Reid and Pelosi, and I kind of assume that is how most reasonable people would feel. I think it is really interesting that Reid’s rhetoric congers up images of slavery whilst an African American holds the highest US office. Likewise, gaffe-meister Biden’s use of the hanging metaphor while introducing Lord Falderal (my new name for Barry is Lord Falderal) at the jobs conference last week. These are really disgusting and blatant attempts to get attention. Is there anyone who really wants to hear this shit, black, white, Democrat or Republican?

I have an idea Reid, you jackass, how about sticking to the issues for once. Your health care plan sucks. Try listening to the opposition and working something out. Twisting around history helps no one at all.

Death of the American Dream

I am a huge fan of Hunter S. Thompson but like most of his fans, I honestly don’t understand much of what he was writing about. It was his turn of phrase that always got me and the balls to just scribe whatever was floating around in his brilliant drug addled brain.

Lately, I have been cogitating on the Death of the American Dream; something Hunter started writing about when I was like 3. His hatred towards Nixon and everyone connected with the man is legend and Hunter attributed the death of the dream to the legions of (in his mind) evil pig fuckers.

Later on in life when Hunter was ailing both mentally and physically he began to believe George W. Bush to be banging the final nail in the coffin of the great American Dream; and when Kerry got slaughtered in the ‘04 Presidential, Hunter really lost his faith in the government and politics.

I believe Hunter’s suicide had more to do with his lack of faith in what was happening to the country than it did his inability to get around and the general deterioration of his health. I have always gotten the impression Hunter saw what was happening around him as too depressing to deal with, and ending it all was the only solution.

With the election of Barry, I also began to see what Hunter was talking about. He was right. The beginning of the end of the American Dream did begin during the late ’60’s and early 70’s although I believe it is an amalgam of everyone involved, not just Nixon or Bush but also everyone in between; past presidents, the Houses and quite frankly all of us as well.

Let’s face it, the only reprieve we have had in 45 years from a bleak outlook for the future as a country was with Reagan, whom we all rallied around and began to feel proud of the United States once again. We came back together as a country under Reagan. Ford was innocuous and boring, Carter was…well let’s not go there, Papa Bush was OK but no spitfire (I don’t believe he actually wanted to be Pres), Clinton doesn’t merit mentioning and W, well, W was W and although he kept us safe for which I am eternally grateful, he opened the door to the cult of personality that became Barry supporters.

The real death of the dream as aforementioned started some 45 years ago and what it has amounted to is the inability for middle class people to get ahead. I put partial blame on big business. Business people have begged and pleaded for years for Government to step back and let them do what they want. I completely agree with that kind of laissez-faire philosophy to this day. However, what is wont to happen, did happen; complete advantage was taken of all of us when W helped to de-regulate just about everything.

Sub prime mortgages, banks playing loosey-goosey with credit card programs and then whacking their customers with crazy fees, Wall Street playing their usual games. It has all been coming to what will amount as a dramatic, cataclysmic end.

There is no house in suburbia waiting for twenty something’s to purchase at a decent mortgage rate. There are no more BMW’s for those with combined incomes of $75,000. or less. There is no chicken in every pot nor are there two cars in every garage. That is what it is; dead. It’s been dead for many, many years. Your kids are not going to private school unless you have a great inheritance. Forget college funds, they can go the way of your once fat 401-K in a heart beat.

Pulling yourself up by the boot straps is no longer a feasible option. Well, for a few maybe, but it is now even harder than it was for your old Grannie selling apples for a nickel by the roadside during the Depression.

And, there are no solutions on the radar screen. An almost mystic, hope lactating, quasi-intellectual, do nothing and his cadre of fools now have dominion over our fate for the next four years. Quickly, his supporters seem to be realizing what a joke he and his administration are and there is nothing they can do about it for the next three years.

I have said many times that Barry is now irrelevant, but I was wrong. His relevancy is firmly placed in his ability to further screw up a situation that seemed to have no where else to go but up.

Our Non-President seems to think he is working with Monopoly money. He is unable to see or act upon the problems we face other than to throw money at them which this country clearly does not have.

In politics the best storyteller wins and Barry’s team of yarn spinners pulled a very brilliant although despicable trick on the American public. None of their promises have been realized. Once actually in office, this gaggle of cretins realized they didn’t have a clue and have now become experts in the spin doctor business, which is easy when you have bamboozled the media as well.

The lessons Barry’s crew of third graders are learning are great for them but awful for us. The stimulus package has made the United States slaves to foreign governments whom we should be avoiding like the plague. Can you say economic terrorism?

No jobs have been created. This is especially disappointing to the Green movement who were promised 5 million jobs by 2010. Read my lips people: this is Barry’s largest fuck up. Now is the time to reassess our use of resources and become a power on that front. We are getting our asses kicked in Copenhagen and that is just a shame.

Believe it or not, I have always been an optimist and I love this country, but even I am thinking about where I can live to be sure and provide my family with a solid situation until this shit blows over, if it ever does.

My brother whom I love dearly, likes to argue with me about Barry and says I should offer solutions instead of bitching about the situation. He’s right, the problem is unlike in the past, I can’t offer them because we are way too fucked up as a country for it to matter any longer.

We need a leader badly and I don’t see one coming along anytime soon. Goodbye American Dream, it was a good run.
