Anger, Ego & Healthcare Reform

I have waited to comment on the atrocity that is Healthcare Reform as I found myself so angry as to risk an unintelligible tirade, the literary version of firing a bullet at some idiot Congressman’s field office. I have found putting a little distance between myself, and Lord Falderal’s signing off on the largest publicly funded ego trip since Roosevelt and the New Deal, to be very therapeutic.

What has ensued in the last week since this abortion of legislation was vacuumed out of the womb of Congress is both deeply troubling as well as encouraging.  By encouraging I mean the outrage shown by the overwhelmingly large majority of voters against Healthcare Reform lends well to potentially “throwing the bums out” in the midterms this November.

The troubling part is two fold. First, the thing is law. Law, which will never be administrated correctly because the numbers just do not work. Basically, we have yet another useless and hopelessly flawed piece of legislation that will make welfare look like Microsoft in comparison.

The second more troubling issue is the insidious reversion to violence that has occurred in some factions of the Tea Party. This kind of behavior is not a good thing for Conservatives as a whole. This is the kind of crap that makes the less educated Liberals dive onto the “right wing nut job” bandwagon, screwing it up for those of us who stick to and abide by the more basic facets of the Conservative Republican platform.

Republicans now have a very tenuous line to walk heading up to the mid terms and need to flesh out any extremism in order to attract back into the fold, the Independents that were (hopefully) temporarily dazzled by Lord Falderal’s incredible pile of hyperbole and empty rhetoric. That particular brand of voter is not going to take well to the threats and violent actions of a few angry people who just can’t take it anymore.

That said. What the hell did Lord Falderal and his pack of zombies expect when they passed this piece of crap? Of course people were going to go crazy. No one wanted the flippin’ thing to begin with. The whole “mad as hell and we aren’t going to take it anymore” response is alive and well here in the good ol’ US of A. All the signs were there. Rallies, protests, the fact that only 17% of the whole country wanted Healthcare Reform in first place, should have given someone a clue. And, honestly I have to say if faced with some of these people (Congress) in person, I am not so sure I could keep from popping them in the nose!

Anger is a valid human emotion. The extremism we have seen in the last two weeks is inexcusable for sure. However, the origin of it is pretty easy to understand. For people who love this country and pay attention to what is going on, getting angry is their only resort to being heard. This legislation has cancelled our Representative Republic status and that in turn has pissed of a whole bunch of folk. The jackasses we elected into office are not doing their jobs and the common man has no real way to express himself or herself, except to vote or resort to more extreme tactics.

The recent activity with militias should come as no surprise. It is the oldest form of rebellion in our Nation’s history.  Forming militias is basically built into the DNA of the US. That doesn’t make arming ourselves against our own government a good solution to the country’s problems. The thing about human beings is we still resort to the primordial slime when our backs are up against the wall. We still have war; we still kill and maim each other like some kind of highly functioning Serengeti predator.

What needs to happen is for Conservatives to tone down the violent rebellion rhetoric and have an honest to goodness uprising by coming together and voting this Congress and eventually this President into oblivion. That is the right kind of rebellion. Let’s face it, as Conservatives we have the ammunition needed to do it we just have to stay focused.

Lord Falderal has indeed broached Socialism with the Healthcare Reform Bill.

One of my favorite sayings that I use all the time is “sometimes things just are what they are”. And, this is what it is. I am so fucking tired of listening to Liberals defending Falderal’s actions by saying that Fire, Police, Education and Infrastructure Services are Socialist by their very nature. That is just blatantly wrong.

Fire, Police, Education, Infrastructure creation and maintenance are NOT Socialist programs. There is no redistribution of wealth, they do not create goods, not everyone uses them in their lifetime and we have all agreed as a Republic to pay for them. Some would say that we shouldn’t be forced to pay for things we don’t use. That may be true but we made the decision as one to do it. Yeah, taxes suck, but for these types of services it just makes sense. Unlike Healthcare Reform, we were somewhat well represented when the decision to turn those services over to the Government were made. This is wickedly different than what the Healthcare Reform Bill shoves down our throats.

With Healthcare there IS a redistribution of wealth in that person A’s insurance premiums will be used to offset person B’s health insurance. We are forced under penalty of fine, to pay for everyone else’s healthcare situation. The key here is that EVERYONE is mandated to have health insurance. The means of production, exchange, and distribution of goods and services are all owned by the community with Healthcare Reform. That is Socialism.

And so here we are stuck with a useless law that will never gain any traction, beset on us by an equally useless President whose enormous ego prevented him from working on the issues the public cared about most just so he could experiment with a Socialist agenda and make some kind of show for those who stayed loyal to him. Now more than ever, this President’s power needs to be usurped not by violence, but by a carefully crafted and orchestrated rebellion at the voting booths.

  1. Since their inception the Teaparty crowd (not a movement since they do have the numbers or clout) have been “haters not debaters”. In my opinion this is what the small portions of the republican party of “birthers, baggers and blowhards” have brought you. They are good at “Follow the Leader” of their dullard leaders, they listen to Beck, Hedgecock, Hannity, O’Reilly, Rush and Savage and the rest of the Blowhards. Are you surprise at what they do when you know what they think? The world is complicated and most republicans (Hamiliton, Lincoln, Roosevelt) believe that we should use government a little to increase social mobility, now its about dancing around the claim of government is the problem. The sainted Reagan passed the biggest tax increase in American history and as a result federal employment increased, but facts are lost when mired in mysticism and superstition. Although some republicans are trying to distant themselves from this fringe most of them are just going along and fanning the flames. Lets face it the Republicans had 8 years to deal with health care, immigration and financial oversight and governance and they failed. They could not even win one of the two wars they started, the body bags are still coming in. The Republicans wanted to give Obama his Waterloo defeat over healthcare but instead they gave themselves their own Waterloo defeat by not participating in the debate of ideas and by becoming the party of obstructionist. But they now claim they have changed, come on, what sucker is going to believe that?

  2. Thank you for this information. US total population is currently 308,968,682, not including the illegal aliens lurking in the dark.
and it is unfortunate that this has to happen on our time. He is not aware of he reality and practicality of this reform and until now, he has not awaken from his dream.

  3. Montana,

    Thank you for the comment.

The kind of generalization you make about the Tea Party comes of pure ignorance and the arrogance that seems to pervade the Liberal mindset.

Every party, movement, crowd, what have you, has their whackos as you have so eloquently proven. I am not a member of the Tea Party and am not sure if I support them, but I do support their right to free speech and also as voters and Americans they deserve at least the courtesy and respect of the press to accurately portray their views. The press has not given the Tea Party the fair shake they deserve.

The last 8 years were spent shoring up our safety, something Lord Falderal has quickly dismantled.

As far as what suckers believe the Republicans have changed, we can talk about that the day after Election Day in November.

  4. Dude-your a moron if you think this wasnt needed-have you not seen all the kids in poverty and access to no healthcare. I have lived in 3 other western english speaking countries all with universal healthcare-and the bottom line-the percentage of people with access to healtcare in those countries is borderin 100%-if you are anyone else doesnt think we need this bill-then you are either blind and stupid or just plain dont care about the health of your future generations-where was the screaming about the BILLIONS wasted in Iraq-when you only stand up for something based on a reason-make sure you stand up for all of them-or you just look stupid-ANY U DO

  5. This Mantana JERK is just that, but he is also a dumbocrat who thinks, like bamaboy, that he can keep going back in time to accuse and not own up to the facts associated with the obamanation abomination, i.e., healthcare reform. Its not about healthcare as you pointed out, its about ego and socialism, and in more practical terms, the molestation of the Constitution and the stripping of the rights of Americans. There's so much underhanded shit in that bill, and these idiot dumbocrats are getting screwed just like real Americans are, they're just too stupid to recognize it because they all have their heads so far up bamaboy's butt that all they can see is the shit he's pushing. We will defeat these molesters in November and that abortion of a president when his turn comes. We surround you!

  6. Our system was set up with more than one party for a reason! It is stupidity to say that all Democrats are bad or that all Republicans are bad. We need more than one side to the story! It is reaching a point when nothing will ever get done because they are doing nothing but trashing the other side! If Republicans don't like the Health Care Plan, then why don't they put forth their own ideas on how to deal with it. One way or the other, we will still pay for it all! Unless you expect some Americans to just lay there and die because they can not pay $150,000 for an operation. That is what it cost to save my life. I was lucky enough to have insurance. I agree, there is no easy solution, but can we at least expect these Republicans to do something besides bitch!Maybe we should stir both sides up. Hell, I am a Democrat, but I have voted for Reublicans when I thought they would do a good job. This is our Country and instead of bitching all day long, we should be looking for solutions and use them no matter which party gets the credit

  7. I really wish we didn't have so many "Anonymous'" here!

To Anonymous who began with "Dude"; you really don't get it, man. I mean this with all seriousness...go live in one of those other countries.

And. before you go slinging around the word "stupid", get an education and learn how to spell and proofread, or else you look...well, stupid.

  8. To say that "overwhelmingly large majority of voters" were against health care reform is just wrong. Polls show that it was split decision - about 50-50 for those in favor of reform.

And while I am glad that you achknowledge that the violence seen is dangerous and wrong, you can not ignore the fact that those flames were fanned by the likes of Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh, but also by the politicians. Nevertheless, I don't get the outrage by the Teabaggers. Why now? Why not when Bush was spending money on war? Sorry, but it just screams racism to me.

  9. Rebecca, the polls all stated that only 17% of voters were for healthcare reform. That is the average of all respectable polls like Rasmussen, Quinnipiac et al.

The money Bush spent on war had an end goal, keeping us safe. Our memories are pretty bad when it comes to the terrorist threats that were lobbied against this country. Falderal's end goal is as yet undetermined. Unless the goal was to launch the program that caused the largest tax increase in US history which is what indeed the Helathcare Reform legislation achieved.

The comment "but it just screams racism to me" is offensive and seems to be the only defense Obama zombies can take to when Falderal is criticized. Pretty pathetic, wouldn't you say?
